A global financial technology business is building a new engineering team in Sydney.

We’re looking for experienced Backend / Senior Software Engineers to join a high-performing engineering environment working on complex, high-scale financial technology.

The role

You will:

• Design and develop highly available, scalable backend systems.
• Own services from system design through to deployment and production.
• Work across complex, distributed systems and business-critical workflows.
• Design resilient architectures and asynchronous services.
• Build APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.
• Work closely with Product, Operations and international engineering teams.

The business is technology agnostic, so strong backend engineers from a range of technology environments will be considered.

What we're looking for

• Strong commercial backend software engineering experience.
• Experience designing and maintaining complex systems at scale.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architecture.
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure and modern engineering practices.
• Experience with APIs, asynchronous processing and event-driven systems.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and a focus on reliability, scalability and maintainability.
• Experience working in a collaborative product/engineering environment.
