We’re hiring a Senior Java Backend Engineer to join an AI Centre of Excellence and help build a greenfield, AI-native data product.

What we’re looking for8+ years of production Java/Spring Boot experience
Java 21+, Spring Boot 3+, Hibernate/JPA
Strong PostgreSQL and REST API experience
OAuth 2.1/OIDC/JWT and production security experience
Strong Git, PR and code review practices
Hands-on daily experience with GitHub Copilot agent mode, Coding Agent or similar agentic development workflows
Experience auditing and governing AI-generated code
Nice to have:Spring Modulith, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Azure and Databricks experience.
A GitHub profile or working portfolio demonstrating your engineering and AI tooling experience.

Key Responsibilities Own the architecture and delivery of Java/Spring Boot backend services and REST APIs
Design and evolve the PostgreSQL data layer, including schemas, indexing, transactions and migrations
Own API contracts, security, performance and scalability
Use AI tools and agentic workflows to accelerate development while maintaining engineering quality
Review and harden AI-generated code, identifying security, architectural and performance risks
Drive code quality through PRs, code reviews, automated testing and CI/CD quality gates
Own backend integration with Databricks and data contracts
Maintain architecture decisions, API contracts, data models and production documentation
