The Senior Jurisdiction and Classification Engineer will report to the Jurisdiction and Classification Manager, and complete product Jurisdiction and Classification Analyses (JCAs) in accordance with Raytheon Australia policies and procedures while adhering to Raytheon’s values and principles. The Senior Jurisdiction and Classification Engineer will also: Be a key contributor by conducting comprehensive technical assessments related to export or import controls to ensure compliance with government regulations in accordance with Raytheon policy and guidelines. Manage small projects and/or act as a Product Line Point of Contact (PoC). Provide guidance and influence others on Defence Export Controls - including policies, procedures, and classifications. Work with minimal oversight from manager and assist with difficult and complex Export Classifications. Support the Global Trade (GT) organisation by responding to Jurisdiction and Classification Analysis (JCA) questions and information provided by Raytheon’s Jurisdiction and Classification Control Board (JCCB). Initiate and coordinate Technical Exchanges with Project Engineers/the Global Trade (GT) Team to solve complex topics and interpretations with Defence Export Control legislation. Interface with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines (e.g., Global Trade), and suppliers to arrive at the correct and compliant export classification. Skills, Experience and Qualifications Requires a Bachelor’s degree in: Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics. Minimum 5 years of prior professional work experience, or if an advanced degree is held a minimum of 3 years work experience. Minimum 2 years of prior experience working on an engineering development or support program. Desirable to have a minimum 3 years’ experience performing export commodity jurisdiction and classification assessments in accordance with Australian Export Control Laws, U.S Export Control Laws, or other related international trade experience. Ability to work with minimal oversight from manager and assist with difficult and complex Export Classifications. Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security clearance as needed.
