This role is ideal for an experienced laboratory professional with strong hands-on experience in concrete and cementitious materials testing, who enjoys working both independently and collaboratively to support quality control and product development. To learn more about Master Builders Solutions, please visit our website: https://master-builders-solutions.com/en-au/ The Role As a Senior Laboratory Technician, you will independently plan and execute laboratory testing programs to support quality control, product development, and technical investigations across our concrete admixture and cementitious product ranges. You will perform both routine and non-routine laboratory testing, prepare and evaluate concrete, mortar and grout samples, and interpret results to support technical decision making. The role will also contribute to laboratory capability by supporting process improvements, training colleagues, and collaborating with internal stakeholders across technical and production teams. Key activities and responsibilities will include but is not limited to: Conducting laboratory trials and testing raw materials and finished products in accordance with AS 1478, AS 1012 and other relevant standards Hands-on preparation and testing of concrete, mortar and grout for fresh and hardened properties Planning, executing and analysing laboratory test programs with minimal supervision Interpreting test results and preparing technical reports for internal stakeholders Maintaining laboratory equipment including calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting Ensuring accurate laboratory records and timely reporting of results Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and reliability Contributing to laboratory training and sharing technical knowledge within the team Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and laboratory organisation Proactively applying WHS principles to all laboratory activities About you: Extensive hands-on experience in laboratory concretes, including making and testing for fresh and hardened properties (including but not limited to air content, set time, bleeding and compressive strength) in accordance with AS1012. A Degree in a relevant scientific field, Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques / Diploma of Laboratory Technology, or minimum High School Certificate with experience in testing materials within this industry or similar transferrable knowledge. 5 years minimum experience in mortar, grout or concrete testing or similar industry experience Self motivated, able to work autonomously and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and capable of understanding and following test methods and other instructions Strong written and verbal communication skills Sound computing skills Physically fit and capable of undertaking concrete and mortar testing activities Benefits: Full range of training and upskilling to ensure you are set up for success.
