QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, law, environment or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance audit, regulatory affairs, risk and/or project management within the construction, mining, or energy sector
  • Proficiency in enterprise compliance management systems
  • Use of Geospatial Information Systems including Esri ArcGIS
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and standards in project-driven industries
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
Responsibilities
  • Drive robust compliance processes to ensure obligation identification, risk assessment, controls implementation, monitoring and reporting
  • Identify potential compliance risks within projects and work with relevant teams to develop mitigation strategies to ensure projects meet all legal and regulatory obligations
  • Ensure effective information management for Project obligations and commitments, maintaining project obligations registers and ensuring accurate compliance information and records
  • Conduct and coordinate pre-construction, pre-commissioning, and pre-operations readiness reviews, verifying compliance requirements are met before project commencement
  • Develop and implement compliance activity plans for Projects
  • Develop tools and templates for, and conduct, regular compliance verifications, audits, and inspections
  • Prepare and deliver detailed compliance reports to the business, highlighting risks, compliance status, and advice on corrective actions
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including project managers, legal teams, and regulatory bodies, to ensure compliance issues are addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
