We are looking for candidates with the following:

• A high level of understanding of how to interpret and apply legislation, including an understanding of the operation of legal practice environments
• Strong communication and relationship management skills
• Where litigation duties are required: Demonstrated advocacy skills in a Court and Tribunal
• Substantial experience as a legal practitioner with considerable experience in private practice, regulation and/or government prosecutions
• Admitted as an Australian Lawyer and/or eligible to obtain a Victorian Practising Certificate

This includes handling complaints about lawyers, investigating poor conduct and overseeing management of trust accounts. We are also the stewards of the public purpose and fidelity funds and administer these to support legal regulation and access to justice in Victoria.

We’re looking for multiple Senior Lawyer & Investigators to join our Discipline & Suitability team on an ongoing and fixed term (until January 2026) basis. You will handle more complex investigations into complaints about lawyers, their fitness to practice and associated disciplinary issues.
