Responsibilities
  • Undertaking reviews and drafting of heads of agreement, leases, agreements for leases, licences, subleases, renewals, surrenders and assignments of leases.
  • Undertaking due diligence lease reviews for M&A transactions and analysing lease portfolios for assignments of lease and change of control provisions for company restructures.
  • Providing advice on retail lease legislation (where applicable) and broader property laws.
  • Acting for both tenant and landlord clients, ensuring their interests are effectively represented.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across disciplines for disputes and acquisitions and disposals with a leasing component.
  • Regularly liaising and communicating with clients, including running advice consults over video calls and ability to provide strong written technical advice.
  • Assisting with complex lease negotiations.
  • Managing client leasing portfolios and providing strategic advice.
  • Using the PEXA platform.
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in legislation and market practice to provide proactive guidance.
  • Managing, supervising and coaching junior lawyers.
  • Contributing to team training and developing initiatives.
  • Developing and maintaining lease precedents.
