Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As Senior Lead Analyst Relations Manager, you will collaborate with the Senior Director of Analyst Relations, AR colleagues, Corporate Communications, business units, product management, and product marketing to enhance Lumen’s reputation within the Industry Analyst community, including firms such as Gartner, Forrester, and IDC. You will be responsible for managing the company’s visibility and influence among analysts who impact customer decisions. This role involves both internal and external activities, requiring independent management of multiple projects. You will also interact with VP and C-level executives as needed.

THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and sustain strategic relationships with key industry analysts by understanding their areas of focus and ensuring the organization addresses these areas.
  • Develop and implement strategies for engaging with industry analysts who influence customer decisions.
  • Bring a thorough knowledge of Lumen and each analyst to every analyst interaction.
  • Acquire or enhance technical knowledge, including an in-depth understanding of networking and Lumen products and services, to coach subject matter experts and spokespeople in preparing content and presenting information specifically tailored for an analyst audience.
  • Gain and maintain thorough knowledge of your beat area, including infrastructure, connectivity, communication, security, and Managed & Professional Services.
  • Educate sales on analyst insights and available AR resources.
  • Coordinate program execution with other disciplines, such as PR and events, when appropriate.
  • Manage multiple activities around Lumen’s annual Industry Analyst Forum.
  • Help maintain internal AR databases and tracking mechanisms.
  • Forecasts business opportunities and internal responses to ensure the continued growth and success of the organization.
  • Interfaces with all levels of management, including the senior leadership team, to negotiate and influence the building of consensus.
  • Leads all inbound and outbound analyst-related activities, including strategic planning, industry analyst reports (Magic Quadrants, Waves, Marketscapes, etc.), key product launches, message testing, and executive interactions. This leadership requires technical expertise and is a key part of the sales cycle, impacting sales revenues.
  • Structures and leads all analyst briefings, inquiries, and strategic advisory sessions.
  • Team player that can cast vision, illustrate tactics/strategy, and hold team members accountable.
  • Must be a corporate spokesperson and influencer, sales support expert, and teacher to our junior and senior marketing managers across all VPs, and extending to other business units.
  • Develops, negotiates, implements, and manages complex projects with external analysts, consultants, and vendors.
  • Works independently, with only minimal management oversight.
  • Works independently and leads teams to complete projects and major initiatives using judgment and technical experience.
  • Monitor for relevant analyst research to summarize and send to key internal stakeholders.
