Senior QA Engineer – Job Description Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Engineer with strong technical expertise to lead quality initiatives, drive test strategy, and ensure delivery of high-quality UE@Work testing. The ideal candidate has deep experience with both manual and automated testing, understands modern development practices, and can collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and engineering efficiency. Key Responsibilities Quality Strategy & Leadership Define, refine, and implement QA processes, standards, and best practices across the engineering organization. Own end-to-end testing strategies for features and systems. Lead test planning, risk analysis, and quality assessments for releases. Mentor QA engineers and contribute to team skill development. Advocate for quality throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Test Design & Execution Create detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test scripts for functional, regression, integration testing. Perform exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and critical defects. Ensure thorough test coverage across API, UI, backend services, and integrations. Test Automation Monitoring the design, development, and maintenance of automated test suites for web and API components. Monitoring Integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery. Identify areas where automation can significantly improve coverage and efficiency. Review and guide the optimization of existing automation frameworks for reliability and scalability. Collaboration & Communication Work closely with developers, product managers, end users to understand requirements and acceptance criteria. Participate in design reviews and provide input from a QA perspective. Communicate quality insights, risks, test results, and recommendations to stakeholders. Facilitate defect triage and ensure timely resolution of issues. Required Technical Skills Testing Expertise Strong knowledge of modern testing methodologies: functional, regression, smoke, sanity, end-to-end, UAT testing. Experience testing distributed systems and APIs. Solid understanding of data validation and backend testing techniques. Automation Tools & Frameworks Proficiency in at least two of the following: UI Automation: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, WebDriverIO API Automation: Postman/Newman, RestAssured, Karate, SuperTest Programming / Scripting Ability to read and understand source code to collaborate effectively with developers. DevOps & CI/CD Experience integrating automated tests with pipelines. Understanding of cloud environments (Azure). Qualifications Proven experience driving quality strategy in agile development environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Experience working in fast-paced environments and managing multiple priorities. Nice-to-Have Skills Knowledge of security testing concepts (tools like Burp Suite). Familiarity with AI/ML testing concepts. What Success Looks Like High-quality releases with minimal production issues. Robust, scalable automation coverage integrated into development workflows. Improved QA efficiency and faster feedback loops. Strong relationships and trust built across engineering and product teams. Proactive identification of risks, bottlenecks, and quality gaps.
