This role plays a key part in managing commercial relationships with contract manufacturers, ensuring alignment with business objectives and enabling strong supply chain performance. The position focuses on driving cost efficiency, agility, and delivery excellence across product life cycle activities. The role directly contributes to achieving customer delivery commitments and long-term supply chain competitiveness How you will make an impact: Own commercial relationships with designated EMS partners Develop and recommend EMS strategies and corresponding business cases to optimize total cost of ownership and mitigate geopolitical and supply chain risks Lead RFQ processes including package development, bid evaluation, and award recommendation Negotiate, review, and approve monthly product pricing while ensuring accurate pricing file updates Coordinate claims resolution processes including PPV, revaluation, true-up, excess and obsolete, and ad hoc claims Lead identification and alignment of cost reduction opportunities through vendor performance reviews Drive supplier business reviews with operational teams and executives to ensure continuous improvement and strategic alignment The must haves: Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or Engineering. Experience: >10 years of experience with enterprise-level systems to low-cost consumer-like electronics Demonstrated commercial business acumen with EMS suppliers Application of negotiation practices with senior-level executives within EMS partners Ability to influence and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders up to executive level Application of transformation cost analysis across multiple contract manufacturing models Utilization of finance knowledge in commercial decision-making Nice to haves: Education: Master in Business Experience working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contract manufacturers globally, including Southeast Asia and Mexico Application of contract manufacturing engagement models including EMS, JDM, and ODM Experience generating and presenting content to executive audiences Utilization of Microsoft tools including PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written) Willingness to travel #LI-SG1 At Ciena, we are committed to building and fostering an environment in which our employees feel respected, valued, and heard.
