Job Description The Senior Lease Accountant facilitates lease payments, performs monthly recording and review of lease transactions, and serves as a liaison for addressing landlord inquiries related to lease payments. This position works closely with the Real Estate Lease Administration team to maintain all leases in Lucernex (LX), our lease administration and accounting software. The role assists in the implementation of ASC 842 and supports ongoing accounting under this standard. They also use LX to perform period-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial data reviews, while assisting the AP team with lease payment processing through Lucernex. Your Impact and Responsibilities: Set up rent payment schedules and straight-line/ASC 842 schedules for all new leases and validate lease data entered by the Lease Administration team Assist in the implementation of ASC 842, including updates to lease contracts in Lucernex Review lease contracts, perform and document ASC 842 lease classification tests on new and modified leases Prepare journal entries and reconcile lease and property tax balance sheet accounts, ensuring timely and accurate adjustments each period Provide ad hoc reports and analysis using strong business acumen to meet requests and objectives Work cross-functionally with Real Estate, Accounting, and AP teams to ensure accuracy of lease activity, including rent, property taxes, ROU assets and liabilities, and related accounts Qualifications Required Qualifications: 2-4 years of lease accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or within a high growth restaurant or retail environment Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities Self-driven, flexible, and highly energetic with strong written and verbal communication skills Able to work effectively and efficiently both independently and collaboratively Microsoft Proficient: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Preferred Qualifications: Experience with lease administration and accounting systems Workday and Lucernex experience Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
