• a PhD or equivalent doctorate in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field
• an outstanding track record of research publications in the area of Optimisation Theory
• evidence of success in securing competitive research grants
• evidence of ability, versatility and commitment to excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
• experience in supervising students across various academic levels
• a developing understanding of key strategic issues within the discipline and the broader higher education sector.

• contribute to the development, implementation, and promotion of innovative mathematical education programs within the School of Mathematics and Statistics,
• collaborate effectively with academic and professional staff across the University of Sydney on both teaching and research initiatives,
• play a leading role in advancing the school’s research, education, and administrative activities, while building a strong reputation as a respected authority in the field of mathematical sciences
