Overview: Continuing, Full-time Position Salary Academic Level C ($141,247 - $162,872) + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements Based at the Melbourne Campus About the Position – Senior Lecturer, Entrepreneurship & Innovation This new Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship & Innovation role has been created in response to the rapid growth and evolving demand for entrepreneurship education across our undergraduate and postgraduate programs. With expanding opportunities for Entrepreneurship and Innovation minors at the postgraduate levels, this is a pivotal moment to shape the future of our offerings. We are seeking an experienced academic who is passionate about Entrepreneurship and Innovation and who can provide strong program management and academic leadership to contribute to RMIT’s teaching and learning excellence. In this role, the Senior Lecturer (Entrepreneurship) within the Department of International Business, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IBIE) is expected to play a key role in strengthening our current curriculum while also driving the development of new courses in high-growth and high-impact areas. This position requires a strong commitment to impactful research, industry collaboration, and professional services. The Senior Lecturer may have program management responsibility within the School. The Senior Lecturer will initiate, lead, and sustain high-quality research programs aligned with the University’s strategic research priorities, demonstrating a strong track record in securing competitive external funding and delivering impactful, high-quality scholarly outputs. The Senior Lecturer will play a significant research leadership role in embedding their disciplinary expertise within the School, fostering a vibrant and productive research culture. This includes leading and contributing to high-quality, output-driven collaborations across RMIT and with local, national, and global partners, alongside active engagement with industry. The role also encompasses the supervision and mentoring of higher degree by research (HDR) candidates and early career researchers, supporting capability development and research excellence To be successful in this position, you will have: Demonstrated ability to coordinate large courses and prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including high-quality curriculum and program materials, and ability to implement innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement. Demonstrated ability to support student issues related to effective learning. Emerging nationally recognised research track record, including a substantial record of research outputs in high-quality outlets. Extensive experience in research leadership with the ability to build and develop collaborative research teams, mentor academic staff to deliver high-quality outcomes, attract and secure external research funding to sustain research effort and manage funded research projects, including complex budgets and reporting requirements. Ability to manage a large program or a number of small programs. Extensive experience in supervising higher degree by research candidates to maximise research performance. Demonstrated ability to manage academic program team, supporting scholarly development of less experienced academic staff. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to financial, governance and quality management systems within a university. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills, including the ability to consult with senior executives, external bodies, produce executive reports, negotiate agreed directions, outcomes and targets within a collaborative environment. Qualifications Mandatory: PhD in Entrepreneurship, Innovation Management, or a closely related field.
