We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Arts and Social Sciences: Major Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: Undertaking course planning, development, coordination and delivery (including classroom teaching), and where necessary, programme administration in Chinese at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels; Engaging in academic research and scholarly activities as well as participating in School/University activities and administration; Liaising with secondary schools and tertiary education institutions and other relevant stakeholders; and Performing any other duties as assigned. Candidates Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: An earned doctorate, in Chinese Language and Literature or a relevant discipline,specialisation in Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature is preferable; Relevant teaching/professional experience including programme development and course administration; A record of research, involvement in professional and community activities; and A good command of English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Putonghua). The level of appointment depends on the candidate’s academic background, experience and competence in academic leadership, teaching, research, scholarly publications, etc. Terms and Conditions for Appointment An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
