Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is a globally recognised centre of excellence for teaching and research in tropical diseases. Recently ranked in the top 5.3% of universities in the world, we are proud of the work we do and the impact this has on the people who need our help most. Headquartered in the heart of Liverpool, with colleagues working all around the world, we are on a mission to improve health outcomes in disadvantaged populations globally, through partnership in research and education.
We are seeking an experienced academic with a background in public health to co-lead public health education at LSTM. The successful candidate will drive forward the enhancement and delivery of public health education across our Masters’ and professional development programmes, working closely with colleagues in the Faculty of Education and beyond.
The postholder will have experience in higher education, especially in low-resource settings, and demonstrate a commitment to student-centred, research-informed teaching. This role offers a unique opportunity to inspire students and shape the future of public health education at LSTM.

Responsibilities
  • Leading the delivery and enhancement of the Masters in Public Health (MPH) programme that aligns with LSTM’s vision, quality standards and meets students’ academic and professional needs.
  • Leading the strategic development and management of the public health elements of other LSTM academic programmes, building public health capacity across the student population.
  • Teaching and supporting programmes and modules provided by LSTM as required, providing assistance to students accessing support services and supporting postgraduate research projects.
  • Working closely with LSTM’s Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) team to embed technological innovation in the curriculum development of new and existing programmes.
  • Contributing to the development of the evidence base required to support public health interventions in line with LSTM’s mission and strategy.
  • Contributing to networking and joint initiatives with partner organisations, especially in low- and middle-income countries, in the development and delivery of public health educational programme.
