Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Advisor – Legal to join their Legal Team. Reporting to the managers within the Legal & Regulatory Department, this position plays a key role in delivering commercially focused legal advice, with particular emphasis on iGaming licence holders, market participants, and other regulated entities. The successful candidate will support clients in navigating complex regulatory frameworks, ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, while facilitating the achievement of their strategic and commercial objectives. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert legal and regulatory advice to clients in the iGaming and other regulated industries on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters. Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including service-level agreements, supplier contracts, white-label agreements, intellectual property and software licensing agreements, and other sector-specific arrangements. Advise clients on licensing requirements, ongoing compliance obligations, and applicable regulatory frameworks within the iGaming and related sectors. Liaise with regulatory authorities, including the Malta Gaming Authority and other competent bodies, on behalf of clients. Support clients in matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring, restructuring, and other commercial transactions. Provide strategic guidance on risk management, regulatory developments, and business opportunities relevant to the iGaming and other regulated industries. Monitor developments in Maltese and EU law and communicate relevant updates to the Legal Team, Senior Management, and clients. Prepare and deliver client updates, legal briefings, and presentations on commercial and regulatory law. Collaborate with internal Compliance, Tax, and Corporate Services teams to deliver comprehensive, integrated client solutions. Mentor and support junior members of the Legal Team, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing. Requirements: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar advisory role. A Doctor of Laws (LL.D) and/or Master of Advocacy (M.Adv) degree (or EU/EEA recognised equivalent), along with a valid warrant or authorisation to practise law in Malta. Proven expertise in commercial and corporate law, with significant exposure to iGaming and/or other regulated sectors, and an excellent understanding of Maltese corporate, commercial, and regulatory frameworks. Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts. Experience liaising with regulatory authorities, particularly the Malta Gaming Authority, will be considered an asset. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to deliver practical, business-oriented legal solutions. Fluency in English (written and spoken); proficiency in Maltese will be considered an advantage.
