Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Reporting directly into the Global Head: Legal, this experienced professional will provide leadership in the delivery of reliable, accurate and well-informed legal advice to SecurityHQ which includes, but is not limited to, all legal, regulatory, and related matters to support business growth.
This individual will be responsible for supervising the contract management process to ensure legal liability and general risk is limited.
This individual will provide strategic legal advice to minimise and/or mitigate legal and reputational risk, by ensuring compliance and providing advice in accordance with business objectives, internal governance processes, best practice, and legislation to all regions where the company operates.

- High ethical standards and professional integrity

- Demonstrated working knowledge of legislation which includes, but is not limited to, POPI, GDPR, Companies Act, King IV and employment related laws
- Analytical, attention to detail with excellent time management skills
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interact with diverse stakeholders
- Knowledge of information systems and cybertechnology would be advantageou
Education & Experience:
- LLB Degree, articles completed
- Minimum of 5 years post article experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of effective drafting, reviewing, interpreting and vetoing legal agreements and documentatio

Responsibilities:
- Ensure appropriate legal policies and practices are in place to manage the legal obligations and legal risks of SecurityHQ effectively
- Provide advice and opinions to internal stakeholders in negotiating complex legal agreements and resolving ad-hoc opinions
- Ensure that professional best practice is achieved and maintained
- Supervise work and lead legal engagements, as required by the Global Head: Legal
- Supervise, coach and mentor of legal staff
- Maintain, review and update standard agreement templates regularly
- Provide strategic legal advice on a wide range of issues, including corporate governance, intellectual property, data privacy, and cybersecurity.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Advise on regulatory compliance matters and assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures.

- Represent the company in legal proceedings, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation.
