Description

Parlee McLaws LLP is seeking two experienced Senior Litigation Legal Assistants to join our team.
The successful candidates are self-starters with high attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and excellent organizational skills that effectively support 2 or more lawyers with busy litigation practices.
This role is located at our downtown Edmonton office.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • a minimum of 8 years of experience in a litigation practice, with insurance experience preferred (administrative assistant experience is an asset)
  • Post-secondary education from a recognized Legal Assistant/Paralegal program (equivalent experience may be considered)
  • Highly organized and pro-active approach to meeting deadlines while producing accurate quality work
  • Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English with solid spelling and grammar skills (additional language skills are an asset)
  • Strong client service and relationship building skills
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs as well as other software such as Worldox, Elite 3E, Remindex, SpeechExec, FoxIt, or similar programs
  • The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM (37.5 hours/week)

  • Substantial reliability accompanied by a professional demeanor and conduct
  • Keen attention to detail in producing accurate, high-quality work

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving skills with a pro-active mindset
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and experience with billing
