We are currently looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to oversee all of our legal operations and be at the forefront of innovation here at Checkatrade. This role requires a legal professional with experience (7+ PQE) in commercial law with a key understanding of technology and product support within a business environment. To be successful you will be able to work in a fast paced environment whilst being able to handle novel legal challenges. As you will play a critical role in shaping the legal landscape of our company, working with the business on new innovations and ideas, and contributing to strategic decision-making processes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRABLE SKILLS:

• Qualified solicitor or barrister in the UK / AUS / NZ with a minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience.
• Experience in corporate law (both public and private markets), data privacy, and commercial law, within the technology sector (bonus if you’ve worked for a marketplace) together with a proven track record of delivering on objectives and providing strategic legal advice and support to senior management.
• Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring team members and excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
• Deep understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape affecting technology businesses and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment whilst prioritising workload.
• Familiar with and able to adopt new and existing legal technologies to advance innovation.
