THE PERSON

The successful Senior Legal Counsel will likely have:

  • Bachelors Degree Law LLB.
  • 6+ years legal counsel experience in commercial / construction contracting environment within Wind Energy, Power generation, Oil and gas, Rail or EPCI.
  • A strong track record of EPCI contracts associated to offshore construction – Substations, Wind turbines, Cables, Foundations, HVDC.
  • Familiarity with project planning and scheduling techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical with strong communication skills.
  • Detail oriented legal professional with proven track record in delivering high quality results.
  • Ability to effectively deliver solutions to complex project issues to senior management and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel to work.

Responsibilities:

The primary focus of the role will be focused on execution matters, including:

  • Providing comprehensive support throughout tender processes, project acquisition, and project execution phase.
  • Collaborate with project management and senior contract management teams to formulate contracting strategy for projects and analyse contract risks and form mitigation strategies.
  • Tendering to contract award stages.
  • Identifying and qualifying subcontractors for identified scopes of work.
  • Prepare or review requests for proposals/tender documents for distribution to vendors.
  • Review and evaluate proposals for tender and lead the commercial review of bids.
  • Perform contract review and prepare contract summary documentation for use by project teams.
  • Demonstrate an extensive business and commercial understanding, as well as having the ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of compliance matters.
