What to Expect
Tesla is accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable energy. We continuously develop revolutionary strategies and products within shortest time, and successfully launch them on a large scale. This is only possible through extraordinary speed, innovation, and efficiency.
Gigafactory Berlin forms the perfect basis for rolling out Tesla’s incredible success story in Europe. The most important pillar for this is our employees. Their passion, motivation and engagement ensure that we consistently achieve our goals. We are looking for you to continue and expand this success story together.
We are looking to hire a talented Senior Legal Counsel/Managing Counsel, Infrastructure and CapEx, to join our Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg legal team. In this role, you will support the facility and production equipment build out, operations and maintenance, including construction, CapEx, overall site infrastructure and other commercial teams on a variety of transactions and negotiations. The focus for this role is to be the trusted advisor for manufacturing, engineering, and procurement teams at the factory. You will be part of a global legal team that supports facilities and special projects throughout the world.
What You’ll Do

You are a team player, highly organised, self-motivated, pro-active, and entrepreneurial. You have the ability to think strategically and know how to successfully and independently manage complex legal matters whilst prioritising your resources efficiently. This is a great opportunity to work at a fast growing, highly diversified and dynamic company whilst having a significant impact on one of Tesla’s factories.

  • Support commercial and procurement teams on a variety of transactions and negotiations, including drafting and reviewing contracts in connection with construction, production equipment, and other commercial transactions (i.e., logistics, real estate, utility agreements and NDA’s).
  • Manage the enforcement of respective contracts (i.e., warranty claims, default notices, mechanics’ liens, general claim management as well as dispute resolution)
  • Provide strategic legal advice to manufacturing, engineering, and construction leads
  • As needed, assist in transactions to support the construction, infrastructure, and production equipment teams on a global level
  • Support on special projects
  • Handle all other legal day-to-day work

What You’ll Bring

  • Willingness to travel to GigaBerlin as required
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience at a law firm and/or in-house corporate international environment, ideally with a commercial legal background, with an exceptional ability to handle a high workload of complex legal matters at the same time
  • Team player with the ability to proactively identify problems, drive projects, and execute pragmatic/creative legal and business solutions on a timely basis
  • Inspire trust, forge relationships quickly with key stakeholders at all levels, and earn the confidence and cooperation of your business partners
  • Work well both autonomously, collaboratively and transparently, and are effective at juggling and prioritising competing tasks in a fast-paced, challenging environment
  • Possess an entrepreneurial mindset, quick and flexible learner with high standards, impeccable integrity and ethics, unquestionable good judgment, and well-honed analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with a business level to near-native level fluency in German and English (written and spoken)
  • Good sense of humour, disdain for drama, and a desire to get things done

What we offer
You will be working in our state-of-the-art Gigafactory, where you’ll solve the world’s most interesting problems with the best and brightest people who share a passion to change the world. Tesla’s compensation package includes competitive salary and Tesla shares or bonuses. Typical benefits that are offered are a pension program, 30 vacation days, flexible work arrangements, employee insurances, relocation and commuting support.
