Description

Role Description:
About Us: At Booking.com, data drives our decisions. Technology is at our core. And innovation is everywhere. But our company is more than datasets, lines of code or A/B tests. We’re the thrill of the first night in a new place. The excitement of the next morning. The friends you encounter. The journeys you take. The sights you see. And the memories you make. Through our products, partners and people, we make it easier for everyone to experience the world.
Leadership/Team Quote: Have you ever wondered how our successful ads for the Super Bowl are made? If your answer is yes, then this role will capture your interest. Contracts to enable the success of our marketing campaigns will be in your capable hands and these are just one of the many interesting influencer or sponsorship agreements that you will be negotiating.
Role Description: Booking.com’s Legal and Public Affairs team is looking forward to welcoming a dynamic and innovative senior legal counsel. We are looking for someone who has a keen eye for detail whilst keeping the bigger business context in mind; who is excellent at drafting, and just as talented at managing and collaborating with a range of stakeholders across the business; and who is excited at the opportunity to build a career in a fast paced travel and tech environment, where you can truly make a difference.
As the Senior Legal Counsel for Marketing Procurement, you will report to the Senior Managing Counsel, Procurement and dotted line to the Legal Director Marketing. This role will provide dedicated general commercial and contract/procurement legal support. You will be working very closely with the Procurement team, Business Teams (Marketing, Accommodations) and other legal teams, especially the Marketing Legal Team, focussing on fostering close and collaborative working practices and to enabling the third party relationships, contracts and driving risk assessments required to support (among others) the company’s AI priority objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • EU, UK or US law degree.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a reputable law firm or in-house team.
  • Experience in procurement, privacy law, commercial contracting, agency agreements, sponsorship agreements, Ad-tech agreements, media agreements, influencer and talent engagements is an advantage.
  • Native or fluent English speaking and writing skills.
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational and project management skills and ability to meet deadlines, prioritising appropriately.
  • Professional and collaborative approach, commercial awareness and understanding of the business requirements.
  • A high standard of knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Google Suite (Google Sheets, Google Docs).
