McMillan Shakespeare Group (MMSG) is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to provide strategic, commercial legal advice across our business. Reporting to the General Counsel, this role is key in managing legal risk, complex regulatory matters and high-value commercial contracts. Why MMS? About the Role Advise on financial services and credit regulation (Corporations Act, ASIC Act, NCCP Act, NDIS Act). Partner with sales and marketing teams to ensure products and practices comply with regulatory requirements and consumer protection laws. Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements. Advise on M&A transactions, tenders, restructures and other strategic initiatives. Manage disputes, complaints and litigation. Contribute to governance, policy development, training and risk management. Mentor junior legal team members, foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaborate closely with leaders across the Group. You will bring: 8+ years’ PQE, ideally in financial services or corporate/commercial law. Strong knowledge of Australian financial services regulation is preferred. Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and commercial judgement. Highly organised and solutions-oriented. Qualified Australian legal practitioner.
