Job Description We’re looking for a commercially minded and collaborative Senior Legal Counsel to support our Affordable Homes business. This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of real estate transactions that make a meaningful difference to communities across the UK. You’ll be part of a supportive legal team, working closely with investment and operational colleagues to deliver high-quality legal advice and help us manage legal and reputational risk. What you’ll be doing: Providing legal advice on real estate transactions across the Affordable Homes portfolio Negotiating and managing contracts including sale, development, lease and funding agreements Supporting due diligence processes for acquisitions and disposals Advising on operational legal matters and regulatory compliance Collaborating with internal teams and external counsel to deliver commercial outcomes Coaching deal teams on legal risks and supporting self-service where appropriate Reviewing and developing standard documents and legal policies Keeping up to date with legal developments and sharing knowledge across the team Qualifications Who we’re looking for: Qualified solicitor with at least 4 years’ post-qualification experience in real estate law Strong understanding of social housing regulation and affordable housing transactions Experience negotiating and managing complex property contracts Ability to provide clear, commercially focused legal advice Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management capability Proactive approach to problem-solving and risk mitigation Commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you.
