Description
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal team in our Headquarters, located in DAFZA, Dubai Airport Freezone. Scope: Senior Legal Counsel is responsible for providing legal advice and support within Transguard, it's subsidiaries and to external stakeholders in all aspects of the business. In addition, accountable for ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations of the UAE and other jurisdictions. The incumbent must foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the interests and risk mitigation for Transguard. Financial: Identify cost saving opportunities by working with the business units, Government, and Public Relations Officers Work with the Legal Director to manage external legal budget Customer: Develop and maintain excellent relationships with all internal stakeholders at all levels within the business Internal Stakeholder management to ensure swift and clear communication and completion of tasks within a timely manner. Assisting and educating the business units with legal issues, as and when they arise. Preparing and conducting training to the business units on laws and legal principles and consequences of non-compliance. Supporting other members within the legal function, particularly the Legal Director on projects and transactions. Supporting the Head of PRO Services with drafting of corporate documents and maintaining commercial licenses. Regular meetings with business units to identify and manage areas of risk, financially and contractually. Process: Maintain processes to optimize efficiency and timely finalization of tasks. Raising awareness of potential legal issues arising throughout the Company and ensuring that best practices are adhered to reduce any legal exposure for the Company. Reviewing and negotiating contractual documentation and providing legal advice on the same (including the provision of advice with regards to contractual obligations and potential liabilities/exposures, warranties, indemnities, and other terms and conditions of contract. Ensuring that a good system of corporate governance is in place and adhered to (i.e. with contract approvals procedure, authority matrix and internal policies and procedures). Assisting with implementation of Company’s compliance policies: drafting policy and setting up processes and procedures to ensure compliance. Keeping up to date with, and understanding, relevant laws and regulations relevant to the Company’s operation. Preparation and presentation of monthly reports to the leadership team. Innovation: Identify external processes that can be moved online to save time and money. Stay abreast of customs and regulations to ensure that Transguard remains compliant with regulations. Identifying and implementing contractual changes required to ensure Transguard is adequately protected. Selection Criteria: Bachelor of Laws Degree Admission to the home or other country Solicitor or Bar Association 5-8 years of previous In-house legal experience in the UAE General knowledge of MS Office Written and spoken English.
