Position Overview:
Under indirect supervision, install, maintain, test, and repair systems, networks, low voltage electronics, and surveillance equipment (door sensors and alarms, cameras, and panic buttons). Utilizes intermediate technical knowledge to implement and support IT initiatives. Provides technical support and resolves problems of a moderately complex nature. May assist users/departments in implementing requests or proposals and in determining information systems needs assessments.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Capable of building and configuring computer workstations and servers.
- Familiarity with Netgear, Ubiquiti, and Fortigate networking equipment setup and configuration.
- Knowledge of Audio/Visual systems (SVSI & AMX, Crestron).
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance on systems software, applications, and hardware.
- A thorough understanding of Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory.
- Ability to provide functional direction to other technical support staff.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Ability to determine computer problems and coordinate hardware, software, and/or network solutions.
- Moderate physical activity, requiring handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than 4 hours per day.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, early mornings, and On-Call shifts as required

Responsibilities:
- Performs general problem-solving and assistance on diverse software applications and hardware systems such as Microsoft Office, Micro OPERA, and Sedna Presenter.
- Performs varied technical assistance and maintenance duties; maintains and updates record-keeping systems; documents projects; writes and maintains user instructions.
- Coordinates, maintains, and inputs applicable records, including but not limited to network users, security, and tracking inventory levels of equipment and materials.
- Performs moderately advanced technological systems support, maintenance, and testing for proper upkeep of systems; may troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex system hardware, software, and network failures and conflicts.
- Participates in the review, evaluation, and recommendation of solutions relating to hardware and software acquisitions and/or network updates.
- Performs the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computers, workstations, and other related equipment and devices.
- Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to technology, equipment, applicable laws, regulations, standards, and/or systems.
- Installs and maintains low voltage electronics.
- Installs and maintains door systems and video surveillance equipment.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
