dfarc, Chartered Professional Accountants is a well established, full service public accounting practice based in Surrey, providing a wide and diverse range of services to our clients.
We are seeking an experienced senior level accountant, knowledgeable in all areas of full cycle accounting, who takes ownership of any given clients’ file and sees its completion from start to finish and meets all deadlines. You are committed to your work, are detail orientated and thorough, with excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and trouble-shooting skills. You have good time management and are capable of handling multiple projects under minimal supervision.
For the right individual, this will be a position of responsibility working directly with clients.
You will have the following skills:
· At least 3 years relevant Canadian public practice experience in a medium to large CPA firm – Intermediate to senior level.
· CPA designation or near completion.
· Familiarity with a paperless environment.
· Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Extensive experience with Compilation engagements, including all relevant analysis, reconciliations, and documentation.
· Experience preparing financial statements – use of JazzIt an asset.
· Proficiency in preparing corporate tax returns with varying complexities.
· Experience preparing trust tax returns.
· High level of competency with CaseWare/Caseview, TaxPrep or similar tax software, Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), QuickBooks Desktop and Online, and Sage 50.
· Supervisory skills to mentor and support junior accounting staff.
Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
· Review staff prepared CaseWare files, corporate, trust and personal tax returns and provide feedback.
· Preparation of simple to complex Compilation engagements including all related working papers, financial statements, tax and information returns.
· Communicate with CRA on audits, inquiries, appeals and objections.
· Prepare complex personal and corporate tax returns, trust tax returns and other information returns and schedules.
· Tax planning for corporate and personal tax clients including meeting with the client and reviewing the financial information.
· Assist partners to mentor junior staff, review their working papers and provide constructive feedback.
