The Mississauga Muslim Community Centre is dedicated to nurturing faith, character, and leadership among Muslim youth. Our Sunday School provides authentic Islamic education rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah, while also equipping students with life skills that help them navigate today’s world with confidence and strong Islamic values.
We are currently seeking a highly qualified Senior Level Teacher to teach and mentor students aged 13–16. This role requires both a solid academic background in Islamic Studies and the ability to effectively engage teenagers in meaningful learning and personal development.

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Level Islamic Teacher will design and deliver lessons that deepen students’ Islamic knowledge while addressing the challenges faced by youth in their teenage years. The teacher will also integrate skill-building into the curriculum, helping students develop leadership, critical thinking, and strong moral character. This is a role for someone who is not only a teacher but also a mentor and role model for Muslim youth.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Degree, diploma, or formal studies in Islamic Studies (or equivalent recognized qualifications).
  • Strong grounding in the Ahlu Sunnah wal Jama‘h creed and sound Islamic knowledge.
  • Prior teaching or mentoring experience with teenagers (13–16 age group) is required.
  • Experience in youth leadership, skill-building, or extracurricular programming is highly desirable.
  • Excellent classroom management and the ability to relate to both boys and girls respectfully and effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English (knowledge of additional community languages is an asset).
  • Resides within or near Mississauga to ensure punctuality and consistent commitment.
  • A passion for Islamic education, youth development, and community building.
Responsibilities
  • Teach senior students (ages 13–16), covering Qur’an, Hadith, Seerah, Islamic history, and Aqeedah according to the Ahlu Sunnah wal Jama‘h creed.
  • Prepare structured, engaging, and age-appropriate lesson plans that connect Islamic teachings to real-life issues faced by teenagers.
  • Integrate personal and skill development (e.g., leadership, communication, teamwork, problem-solving) into the teaching process.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment for both boys and girls, ensuring respect, participation, and positive engagement.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model, fostering strong Islamic values, confidence, and responsibility among students.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow staff on curriculum development, school events, and student support.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to both students and parents.
