ABOUT US

The Office of the Registrar (OOR) fosters a culture of student service excellence and is a key contributor to the overall student experience at Western, from the initial point of contact with prospects through to graduation and beyond.
Within the OOR, the Undergraduate Recruitment Office ensures successful achievement of Western’s undergraduate enrolment goals and strategic plans for growth, internationalization, and diversity by advising and supporting prospective students throughout the application and admission cycle.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution

Experience:

  • 3 years’ progressive student recruitment/counselling experience in a post-secondary environment
  • 1 year leadership experience in a post-secondary environment
  • 3 years’ leadership experience in a post-secondary environment is preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (both creating and delivering presentations)
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize detail/data from CRM systems and to process information with high levels of accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to apply creativity, innovation and resourcefulness to daily work and ability to manage activities for both self and others effectively
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to emerging priorities
  • Possession of a reputation for resourcefulness with a strong sense of accountability
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate complex ideas verbally or graphically, and understand customer needs and expectations while providing excellent customer service
  • Proven ability and natural inclination to interact with people in a professional, respectful and diplomatic manner

Responsibilities

The Senior Liaison Officer within Undergraduate Recruitment works with the Associate Registrar, Student Recruitment and Communications to develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies that will enable Western to achieve its overall domestic and individual faculty/program enrolment goals. The Senior Liaison Officer is required to frequently travel within the province and across Canada to represent the institution at recruitment fairs, high schools, and community events. Flexibility to travel on evenings and weekends is essential to effectively engage with prospective students and constituents.
