This is an exciting time to join the University of St Andrews Libraries & Museums as a Senior Library Assistant and help to support the effective implementation of the Unit’s strategic plan 2024-2029. Key themes include, focusing on service design and quality, adopting a user-centred approach by responding to changing user demands and needs, as well as ensuring long-term sustainability for collection development and stewardship. As the successful candidate will work across various teams, they will play an active part in achieving these shared goals, and will be involved in key projects including the implementation of the new Reading Lists system and St Andrews’ participation in the UK Print Book Collection.
We are seeking to appoint a highly-organised, adaptable team player who can also work independently to join Libraries and Museums. The successful candidate will have an understanding of how data can be used to share, deliver and improve service provision, and will support the development and ongoing delivery of services from across the Unit, including: Acquisitions & High Demand, Collections Management & Metadata, Open Research and Reading Lists. The role holder will be expected to work across teams and sites, so having a flexible, adaptable and positive approach is key.
You will have a good general education to Scottish Higher Level or equivalent, be an effective communicator with a team-player attitude who takes an organised approach to their work to ensure daily service deliveries or project milestones are met effectively and efficiently.
