Responsibilities

Royal Free London Library Services (RFLLS) support staff and students from the UCL School of Life and Medical Sciences (SLMS), and from the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, working and studying across the Royal Free London Hospitals.
The RFLLS libraries provide a mixture of quiet and group working spaces, and computing and teaching areas for both organisations. RFLLS also facilitates access to an extensive range of online information resources and delivers a programme of library and information skills training for individuals and groups.

The Senior Library Assistant (Skills) is a part of the RFLLS team, responsible for delivering library services to UCL staff and students, and NHS staff working across all of the Royal Free London NHS Trust hospitals. Key elements of the role are:

  • Providing day-to-day delivery of, and support for library skills training.
  • Delivering frontline customer services, and administrative tasks including marketing and communication campaigns.

This is a mainly on-campus role (minimum of 75% working hours), based primarily at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, but with the potential for working at other Royal Free Hospital sites, at Barnet and Chase Farm. It is also suitable for occasional remote working, at times to be agreed with line management.
