Reports to: Head of Debt
Location: Leicester, LE3 5BZ
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week
We are looking for an energetic, confident Senior Litigation Paralegal to join our litigation and dispute resolution solution within the wider debt and commercial function. You will handle a caseload of pre-action and litigated matters.

Responsibilities

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of matters and undertake all pre-action steps as well as post-litigation procedures.
  • Issue Court Action and take all necessary steps up to and including various options for enforcing a judgment.
  • Prepare and draft Court documentation, including but not limited to Reply to Defences, Witness Statements, Disclosure, Set Aside Hearings and completing court Bundles, from the issue stage onwards.
  • Work on a diverse caseload including small claims, fast/intermediate track, and multi-track claims.
  • Carry out Mediations.
  • Experience handling Summary Judgments and Application to Lift Stays.
  • Handle Statutory Demands and Winding Up petitions.
  • Negotiate settlements and engage in dispute resolution on behalf of clients.
  • Provide guidance and training to Junior Paralegals and Legal Administrative Staff.
  • Gather necessary evidence and data required to support a high volume of valid claims.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).
  • Conduct research and analysis of case law to support legal arguments.
  • Exhibit confident advocacy skills.
  • Utilise case management systems effectively.
  • Deliver commercial litigation services and support a culture of achieving win-win outcomes.
  • Provide front-line legal advice and support related to the development and maintenance of our growing customer base.
