SKILLS FOR SUCCESS

Joining us as Senior Logistics Manager, the minimum criteria you’ll need is:

  • Good standard of general education, including GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Considerable experience in leading a large food logistics function, with a strong focus on short journeys and short lead-time operations.
  • Proven track record (minimum 5 years) in logistics management with responsibility for both warehousing and transport.
  • Experience within food service, FMCG, or other temperature-controlled/fast-moving product environments.
  • Proven success in implementing operational improvements and delivering cost. savings.
  • Significant experience in negotiating with and managing relationships with Trade Union representatives.
  • Experience managing large teams, ideally across multiple sites.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, BRC, ISO 22000) and warehouse/transport compliance requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of road transport legislation and best practices.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), transport management systems (TMS), and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to set and achieve budgets and targets.
  • Proficient in the use of IT (MS Office Suite).
  • Full and Valid driving License
  • Willingness to travel across the Island of Ireland and occasional travel outside NI/ ROI as required.
Responsibilities

Following another year of record growth, and to support our ambitious future plans, we are seeking to appoint a Senior Logistics Manager who will lead and optimise the organisation’s warehousing and transport operations, ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant movement and storage of food products across the Island of Ireland.
This role will drive operational excellence, cost-effectiveness, and service quality across the logistics function while supporting the business’ growth objectives and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and customer satisfaction. It will also manage the commercial development of our core operations through diversification of services.
Our central distribution and transport operation is based in Mallusk Co. Antrim, and we are currently extending a number of other logistics facilities in Co. Down, Co. Fermanagh & Dublin, as a result of our continued expansion.
This role will be very well suited to a candidate who is an experienced Logistics Manager and has a strong knowledge of industry legislative requirements. The ideal candidate will lead at a strategic level, and will therefore be forward thinking, innovative and highly effective in leading team success.
