The Senior Logistics Specialist is responsible for assisting in the day to day operation of the Terminal ensuring customer expectations are met by focusing on our professional drivers, their daily dispatch and the equipment. This position plays a key role in providing logistical support and coverage for all positions within the Operations.
The successful candidate will follow a modified work schedule of working Sunday to Wednesday / Sunday to Tuesday 6AM TO 6PM – 12 hours shifts.

About the position:

  • Overseeing and coaching the logistics team
  • Arranging for equipment to be available for fleet maintenance
  • Communicating schedule requests to the terminal manager
  • Ensuring payload is up to maximum GVW and was loaded as per instructions
  • Ensuring fuel drivers have followed the established process for reconciliation for dips
  • Managing the dip inventory system and confirm inventory levels if conflicting information is provided
  • Overseeing driver schedules and time off requests
  • Monitoring driver pay portal and reset approvals
  • Ensure proper processing and clearance of cross-border paperwork including dangerous goods and non-dangerous goods ACI’s, ACEs, and CCIs
  • Organizing training plans with training team for drivers (new hire and reoccurring training)
  • Liaising with the safety team, customers, and terminal leadership in the event of an incident
  • Vacation coverage as required
  • Daily involvement in the reports portal to ensure KPI compliance for the branch, communicate any deficiencies to dispatch and work with dispatch team to address as needed.
  • Create master order requests for new sites/liaison with management & quotes team to ensure proper set up in advance of first delivery.
  • Whenever a void in dispatch, you are required to dispatch and cover the required board
