ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE OF THE SENIOR MAGNETIC RANGE TECHNICIAN:

Experience with measurement, surveying, modern digital equipment preferable
IT literate
Essential qualifications for the Senior Magnetic Range Technician:
Successful completion of secondary education with a minimum of 3 GCSEs grades A* to C, including English, Mathematics and a relevant Science
NVQ level 2 in an Engineering, Technical or Testing and measurement discipline or an equivalent qualification

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Portland Bill site. Hybrid working patterns are available. Travel to other QinetiQ sites will be required.

The Role
As a Senior Magnetic Range Technician, you will be working in the wider Magnetic Assessment Services team, embedding into the Compass testing and Compass Base Survey team.
Day-to-day you will be responsible for and contribute to four main areas of the MAS related work: Compass testing and calibration, Compass base surveys at UK airports, Magnetic Surveys across UK, Assisting of ranging equipment in the Land Magnetic Range. The work requires experience of measurement, surveying, modern digital equipment, equipment integration, computing, data analysis, manipulation, interpretation and technical document and report writing.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Delivery of magnetic surveys across various UK sites
Calibration of test equipment
Technical document and report writing
