The IZOT product line includes BMC’s Intelligent Z Optimization & Transformation products, which help the world’s largest companies to monitor and manage their mainframe systems. The Senior Product Developer is a contributing member of the development team responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging of software programs including software tools, operating systems, application programming interfaces, user interfaces, and cross platform communication. The role requires a good knowledge of product domain, the software development life cycle and the process involved in product development.

Product development experience with a proven track record of delivering high quality commercial enterprise products. This individual should ideally possess 5-10+ years of experience working in an IBM ISV or OEM development environment.

• z/OS Internals experience architecting complex operating system level solutions.
• In depth experience in troubleshooting complex problems at application and systems levels.

To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:

• 10+ years of experience with z/OS Processing Environment. At least 7 years IBM coding and development.
• Extensive development experience using 64-bit Assembler and 31-bit Assembler programming languages.
• Highly developed mainframe technology skills
• Coding experience in a multitasking, reentrant and/or sysplex environment
• Self-starter able to work independently to provide quality solutions with little oversight.
• Experienced creating functional designs/specifications from business requirements.
• Experience with Mainframe environment (TSO/ISPF, JCL etc)
• Operating system centric role
• Excellent knowledge of z/OS structure and logic including knowledge of z/OS operating system internals
• Experience in developing working code utilizing low-level operating system functions to accomplish a desired task

Nice to have:

• Experience in C / C++ development
• Experience with TCP/IP and related networking protocols.

The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
The range listed is just one component of BMC’s employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $111,525 - $185,87
