About the role As a Senior Mainframe Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications that power critical business processes. You will be a valued member of the Technology & Engineering team and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions in a hybrid work environment. In this role, you will: Develop, test, and debug mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS. Design and implement new features and enhancements for enterprise systems. Participate in planning meetings, technical reviews, and agile ceremonies. Support deployment activities and ensure smooth production releases. Manage and resolve production issues promptly to maintain system stability. Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to ensure timely delivery of milestones. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client office. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance through our various wellbeing programs. Please note: This role will require an in-person meet and greet at our Cognizant office or client location. What you need to have to be considered 8+ years of experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining mainframe applications. Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS. Familiarity with mainframe tools such as IMS, MQ, VSAM, REXX, CLIST. Ability to work independently and in collaborative team environments. These will help you stand out Experience in supply chain or logistics projects. Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Azure Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or equivalent Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring company sponsorship now or at any time in the future. Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $65,447 to $117,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
