The successful candidate will be responsible for application support for our mainframe retail lending systems. This individual will partner with our technology and business teams to ensure that all issues are prioritized, documented, and communicated appropriately. This individual will be responsible for end-to-end support of lending technology applications through from adjudication to servicing and will gain an in-depth knowledge of our lending systems and business processes.

As part of our Canadian Retail Lending application support team, restores service, changes, supports, and handles day-to-day activities required to run the mission critical systems for the company ensuring business service levels are met and environments are managed. 24X7 on-call rotational is required to support and ensures service restoration of infrastructure, applications (online and offline), and security, while meeting service level agreements as situation arise. Provides the Help/Service Desk support, as well as coordinates and facilitates Incident Management, oversees, and participate changes to the production environment, and engages 3rd party providers contracted to the Bank during an incident. Provides immediate response to production or system problems. Ensure appropriate escalation is followed with problem summary. Look for opportunities to automate process, health check with alerts using monitoring tools. Follow-up with incident and problem records and devise a permanent solution for repeat occurrences.

  • Triage and assist in in the resolution a variety of high impact problems / projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
  • Work with delivery teams to review and understand new projects, architecture, and environment changes.
  • Provide expertise and advanced knowledge of application contention and performance.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and monitor standards for implementation methodology.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of our retail lending business and use this knowledge to prioritize, communicate and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Serve as advisor or coach to support analysts, allocating work as necessary.
  • Appropriately assess risk for all mainframe environment changes
  • Provides technical expertise and oversight on the production floor, understanding the full process requirements (compliance, equipment, regulatory) in order to best understand and resolve production issues.

Qualifications:

  • 5 – 8 years of relevant experience in mainframe application support, systems support, or operation senior analyst role
  • Experience in Mainframe with emphasis on CICS / DB2 / VSAM / MQ / WebSphere /JCL / ESP
  • Familiarity with programing languages e.g. COBOL, Easytrieve
  • Experience in leading a technology team either in a project management or technical support role.
  • Advanced knowledge of the financial industry and specific to retail lending and home finance (NCCS, CCAPS, Mortgages)
  • Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
