GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION The Senior Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing general preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and repairs of all conveyors, production equipment and building-related equipment. This requires intermediate working knowledge for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems to be able to detect minor problems and correct them before they become larger problems. This position regularly responds to production critical issues, provides troubleshooting assistance, and adjusts/repairs as needed. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Safety First, Always: Make sure everyone goes home in better shape than they arrived. Spot hazards, act fast, and use safe lifting and equipment techniques like a pro. No Shortcuts Allowed: Follow all OSHA and state regulations - especially lockout/tagout procedures - and keep communication flowing with teammates and leadership. Preventive Maintenance Pro: Keep our equipment, systems, and facilities in top shape with smart maintenance plans and regular check-ins. Inspector Extraordinaire: Spot issues early - whether it’s a forklift, conveyor, or facility cleanliness - and get them fixed fast. Conveyor Commander: Perform repairs and maintenance on conveyor systems and sorting equipment. Diagnose, clean, lubricate, and troubleshoot like a champ. Cool Projects in a Cool Space: Maintain plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building cleanliness. Jump in on special projects when needed. Power Player: Handle low and high voltage systems (up to 480V AC/DC) with confidence - troubleshoot, repair, and replace components as needed. DIY Genius: Fabricate custom equipment using wood, metal, and whatever else gets the job done. Inventory Guru: Keep tabs on supplies and equipment and recommend what we need to stay stocked and ready. Budget Buddy: Help us stay on track with maintenance and office supply expenses. Vendor Whisperer: Assist in sourcing and evaluating contractors and third-party service providers. Training Champ: Help train staff on safety procedures and equipment use - knowledge is power! Record Keeper Extraordinaire: Track time, parts, repairs, and keep all documentation (like MSDS) up to date. Jack-of-All-Trades: Be ready for “other duties as assigned” - we promise to keep it interesting! Reliable Rock: Show up on time, consistently. QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB Forklift certified, and other machinery certifications (as needed). Intermediate knowledge of PLC’s and sortation controls Position requires flexibility in shift assignment and the capability of responding to mechanical emergencies. Commitment to excellence and high standards. Able to work well independently or as a member of a team, with minimal supervision. Possess a strong sense of urgency. Good computer skills. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Prolonged periods of standing/walking/sitting. Occasionally lift, carry and/or move up to 50lbs. Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity. Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl. Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. Occasional loud noise. Occasional varying environmental temperature changes.
