POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Technician – Critical Utilities is an integral member of a high-performing team, supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing operations by ensuring the reliability and functionality of critical utility systems. This role focuses on the maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of equipment vital to production. The technician will perform both routine and complex tasks in a dynamic, regulated environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Technical Associate’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a multi-skilled environment
  • Proficient in performing electrical maintenance on manufacturing or industrial equipment
  • HVAC and/or welding certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with enterprise systems such as JDE, BPLM, Pilgrim, Trackwise, or similar

PHYSICAL & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Capable of standing for extended periods (4+ hours per shift)
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs overhead
  • Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Availability for overtime, including nights and weekends, as needed
  • Must be able to meet gowning requirements for Grade C/D cleanroom areas

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and non-routine maintenance and repairs on critical utility systems, including electrical, plumbing, and hydraulic components, as well as electronic and automated controls
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical failures on systems such as HVAC, chillers, steam, water, and power generation
  • Execute preventive maintenance activities and help develop long-term reliability plans
  • Identify opportunities for process and system improvements and implement solutions
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment changes, and compliance documentation
  • Assist in the analysis of spare parts usage and inventory management
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure facility operations align with production needs
