JOB SUMMARY The Senior Manager, Accounting – Thailand, Cambodia & Myanmar (“TCM”) is responsible for leading and overseeing entity accounting, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and controllership activities for Marriott International’s above-property entities across Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar. Reporting to the Director, Accounting – APEC, this role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting, statutory compliance, internal controls, and accounting operations for all assigned legal entities. This position serves as the primary finance partner for regional stakeholders and supports business growth by ensuring strong governance, effective controls, operational efficiency, and compliance with Marriott policies, local regulatory requirements, and US GAAP / applicable accounting standards. The Senior Manager will also lead process improvements, support transformation initiatives, and develop accounting talent across the region. CANDIDATE PROFILE  EDUCATION & EXPERINCE * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. * Professional qualification preferred (CPA, ACCA, CA or equivalent). * 8–12 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance operations, audit, or controllership roles. * Prior leadership experience managing teams across multiple entities or markets. * Hospitality, multinational shared services, or regional finance experience preferred. * Strong knowledge of month-end close, statutory reporting, taxation, and internal controls. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS * Strong accounting knowledge including US GAAP / IFRS and statutory reporting requirements. * Solid understanding of balance sheet governance, reconciliations, and financial controls. * Strong analytical and problem-solving capability. * Ability to interpret regulatory and tax implications affecting accounting processes. * Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across cultures and functions. * Excellent communication skills in English; local language capability is advantageous. * High attention to detail and strong risk awareness. * Ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines. * Advanced Excel and ERP systems knowledge; Power BI / automation experience is a plus. * Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  Financial Reporting & Close * Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for all assigned TCM entities. * Ensure financial statements are complete, accurate, and submitted within required timelines. * Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments. * Ensure proper accounting treatment for complex or non-routine transactions. * Ensure compliance with local statutory filing, tax reporting, audit, and regulatory requirements. * Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities. * Monitor changes in accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements and assess business impact. Statutory & Regulatory Compliance Governance & Internal Controls * Maintain robust internal control environment across assigned entities. * Ensure compliance with Marriott policies, SOPs, and delegated authority requirements. * Identify control gaps and implement remediation plans. * Support internal and external audit activities. Business Partnership & Operational Support * Partner with Area Finance, HR, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and Continent Finance teams. * Provide accounting guidance for new business initiatives, restructurings, and projects. * Support business decisions through accounting and financial insights. * Assist with entity rationalization, restructuring, and transformation initiatives where required. Team Leadership & Capability Building * Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members. * Drive talent development, succession planning, and capability building. * Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. * Build organizational readiness for future expansion of regional responsibilities. Process Improvement & Transformation * Drive standardization and simplification of accounting processes. * Support automation, system enhancements, and digital transformation initiatives. * Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting quality, and scalability. * Participate in APEC-wide finance transformation programs and shared service initiatives.
