Responsibilities
  1. Provide leadership and management to projects involved in developing improvements in the provision of Accounts Payable services
    and to assist client agencies with business improvements relating to accounts payable.
  2. Provide high level specialist advice and management on the provision of Accounts Payable services to client agencies across the NT
    Government.
  3. Resolve complex Accounts Payable issues and provide reports, technical support and policy advice to senior management and client
    agencies. Participate in inter-departmental forums relating to government accounting matters.
  4. Maintain currency of contemporary Australian and overseas technology and practices in financial management and accounting and
    implement these within the unit as appropriate.
  5. Review Accounts Payable operations, analyse findings, make recommendations, and implement change to improve internal control,
    procedural efficiency, and effectiveness, and ensure compliance with financial, taxation and procurement legislation, policies and
    procedures.
  6. Responsible for identifying, recommending, and implementing improvements to Accounts Payable processes in an accrual
    environment. This will also include recommending enhancements to the Electronic Invoice Management System.
  7. Undertake ad hoc tasks as required.
