Overview:

  • Dynamic Senior Manager, Audio Visual Services position available, Full-time permanent position. Based at the Melbourne CBD campus (Hybrid role), and Flexible Working Arrangements
  • Responsible for fulfilling extensive managerial duties, fully accountable for the team’s delivery of high-quality IT and Field Services support, and incident, change, and release management providing support to the organization.
  • Collaborates across ITS and other stakeholders across the portfolio.

About the Portfolio
The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated, enterprise-wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.
The Portfolio incorporates the following business units: Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP), Communications, People, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement and Vietnam Operations.
The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups. The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life across the globe. Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.
The Information Technology Services (ITS) function provides RMIT University with current and emerging Technology systems and services. The Role
The Senior Manager AV Services is responsible for the ongoing management, thought leadership, planning, and delivery of efficient, effective, and secure solutions across the Audio-Visual services on a global scale for RMIT University.
The role requires a strong technical background in modern AV technologies and excellent leadership in and project management skills. The Senior Manager will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of AV solutions that meet the University’s needs for Learning, Teaching, Research, and Staff hybrid collaboration. Co-design with Strategy and architecture teams, platform direction, and roadmaps in alignment with enterprise strategy.
The position will ensure the right processes, structures, and priorities are in place to deliver the day-to-day activities responsible for a range of different technologies, including overseeing managed services of ITS sourcing partners for audio-visual design and support, including budget management and performance.
Management of a team, ensuring key deliverables are met, and collaborating with senior college stakeholders, including the CIO and COO, on strategic initiatives.

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive and demonstrable experience in strategically managing operations on a global scale and in large, complex enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing AV technology roadmaps aligned to enterprise strategy and operational metrics and platform practices in large, complex enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing AV technologies, including system design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and experience in managing strategic and non-strategic external providers with a balanced approach.
  • Strong technical and thought leadership with demonstrable experience in developing and leading high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective, trusted relationships in a collaborative and engaging manner with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and prioritize effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience in managing third-party suppliers.
  • Extensive experience in risk and vulnerability management.

Qualifications

  • Mandatory: 7+ years of operational management of complex AV environments, implementing new technology, creation of technical road maps, and demonstrating stakeholder collaboration.
  • Highly desirable: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; AV industry certifications; Vendor certifications
