Description
Lead a department of managers, supervisors, engineers, and technical specialists responsible for delivering component design and release activities globally Understands upfront design, verification plans and methods, and industrialization processes for various underbody components Work with purchasing and suppliers to deliver high quality component designs with best cost, weight, and function Constantly deliver cost and efficiency saves for the responsible components Work with manufacturing and quality teams in our Powertrain Plants to launch internally manufactured components and address quality issue Understand and can lead a team through GPDS program gateways and deliverables including design, sourcing, prototype procurement, analytical/physical validation, and PPAP in support of multiple global programs concurrently Lead teams through problem solving for testing, launch, and quality issues Review, analyze, and address any warranty issues attributed to responsible components Lead team through technical design reviews and make timely data-based decisions Develop strategic commodity plans for responsible components Manage areas of headcount, spending, travel, and purchased service budgets Participate in all hiring within sections including meeting head count models as well as building a strong and diverse skill team Drive engineering excellence through strict enforcement of Failure Mode Avoidance tools BS in Mechanical and/or electrical required Masters in product development or other Engineering degree preferred Formal Systems Engineering knowledge to solve complex problems INCOSE CSEP certification or equivalent preferred Versed in UML and SysML modeling languages preferred Experienced in analyzing a descriptive model to assist in complex decision making preferred
