Working Location: Kai Tak, Kowloon Employment Duration: Permanent Responsibilities: Undertake market and regulatory research and commercial analysis to support business development and corporate energy sales activities in Taiwan and Southeast Asia (“SEA”), particularly for renewable energy projects Contribute to project screening activities, capital/investment assessments, and evaluation of financing options and structures Travel to Taiwan and SE Asia to negotiate with local developers, visit project sites and meet with local stakeholders Prepare clear and concise investment proposals and presentations to articulate key messages and complex concepts to management Mobilize and lead internal and external resources in a cross-functional setting to communicate and conduct due diligence for greenfield, M&A transactions and potential JV opportunities, highlighting key project risks and suggesting mitigations to management where applicable Lead negotiations with external counterparties, applying commercial sense and business acumen while facilitate internal process to ensure achievement of project closing Review and run financial models to assess the feasibility, risks, and commercial viability of projects, working closely with the market BD/CES team Support management and work closely with market BD/CES team to formulate the corporate energy transaction strategy. Responsible to structure, negotiate, manage and execute sales contracts Manage internal and external stakeholders, including project partners, advisors, and internal functional teams (e.g., Finance, Legal, Tax) Provide analytical support for corporate or project financing discussions and contribute to business development strategy reviews Requirement: A recognized university degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related discipline A minimum of 3 years’ relevant working experience in energy and infrastructure sector, including corporate development, M&A, project financing, contracting or consulting Strong understanding and interest in the power / energy industry or infrastructure projects, as well as knowledge of commercial issues, risk analysis, and policy regimes in different geographical markets Candidates with international power experience will be an advantage Candidates with RE greenfield project development and / or M&A experience will be an advantage Strong business acumen to provide analysis and insights Independent thinking, able to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders Experience in overseeing investment and conducting investment research and analysis Self-motivated, able to thrive in a cross-functional team environment and work independently Excellent communication and presentation skills Candidates with less experiences may be appointed at a more junior grade ABOUT CLP CLP was founded in Hong Kong in 1901, at a time when electricity was still a novelty worldwide.
