Senior Manager, CCO Engineering, SRE and Tech Risk Do work that matters The Technology Chief Controls Office (TCCO) is a Line 1 risk team responsible for ensuring new and changing initiatives are assessed and that appropriate risk mitigations are in place. This role sits within the Chief Technology Office (CTO) Centre of Excellence of TCCO and partners closely with stakeholders across Technology Risk, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Global Service Management (GSM), and the Engineering Platform to strengthen and drive effective Technology Risk Management. You’ll play a critical role in uplifting controls, risk culture, and resilience across some of the most critical technology in the Group. The CTO provides the technology backbone of the bank, enabling reliable, secure, and scalable platforms that power innovation, resilience, and great customer outcomes. See yourself in our team The Technology Chief Controls Office collaborates with business and technology leaders, including Engineers, Product Owners, Control Leads, Crew and Crew Tech Leads, SREs and Cyber to identify and manage technology and operational risks effectively. You’ll play a senior leadership role within a high-performing team accountable for strengthening, embedding, and continuously improving the risk and control environment across Technology. You will be part of a dynamic and exciting team focused on delivering a high-quality risk management service for Technology. Key responsibilities for this role includes: Oversee and be accountable for the design and implementation/support the business to design and implement controls that enable better risk and compliance outcomes, providing guidance and advice to senior leaders on their application Act as a trusted risk partner and advisor to teams across Tech Risk, SRE, GSM, and Engineering Platform, ensuring effective engagement, risk transparency, and control design throughout the delivery lifecycle Drive continuous improvement of the control environment using data-driven insights, trend analysis, and proactive issue identification Lead and coach team members to conduct root cause analysis of incidents and issues, identifying opportunities for systemic control improvements Oversee the design and implementation of controls for new and changing processes and operations, advising business leaders on fit-for-purpose design Support and coach team members to identify, initiate, and manage actions to mitigate risks and strengthen controls, including those identified through audits, reviews, and external processes Maintain high standards of data integrity and reporting, providing senior leaders with actionable insights through dashboards and risk analytics. We’re interested in hearing from people who have: A technology background, ideally within Engineering, Platform, Reliability, or Risk domains Experience or curiosity in Artificial Intelligence (AI), including understanding of responsible AI, data ethics, and automation-driven risk uplift Ability to analyse and identify risks and opportunities, recommending appropriate and practical actions Strong influencing and consulting skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholders Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to distil complex information into simple insights Strategic and analytical thinking, with a data-driven approach to problem-solving Knowledge of Operational and Compliance Risk frameworks (advantageous) Proven experience in controls design, implementation, and continuous improvement within large, complex environments Business and commercial acumen within a technology-led organisation If this sounds like the role for you, we’d love to hear from you.
