Summary: The Senior Manager, Commercial Operations will play a critical role in supporting the successful launch, ongoing commercial operations, and organizational decision-making for Apellis’ Australian business. This role combines end to end local supply chain ownership, commercial analytics, and business insights generation to ensure seamless product availability, high-quality operational planning, and data-driven strategic execution. The role partners closely with cross-functional colleagues across Commercial, Finance, Medical, International Supply Chain, and Global Analytics, acting as the single point of contact in Australia for supply chain operations and commercial insights. This position requires a strategic, analytical leader capable of translating complex data into actionable recommendations, in addition to ensuring compliant distribution of medicinal products. Roles and Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities Commercial Insights & Analytics: Provide market and performance insights; lead forecasting inputs and data analysis; deliver clear recommendations for brand strategy and launch planning; align with global analytics. Commercial Operations: Maintain CRM and customer data quality; support dashboard and reporting development (Excel/Power BI); deliver performance metrics for Sales & Marketing; manage external vendors and data providers. Supply Chain Management: Lead the monthly demand review and maintains a rolling 36‑month forecast, act as the primary contact for all Australian supply chain activities; manage day‑to‑day coordination with the 3PL for stock levels, logistics, and trade activities, while overseeing compliant importation, executing SAP processes, and ensuring smooth warehousing and replenishment operations. Cross‑Functional Leadership: Work closely with Australian leadership to support commercial and operational priorities; identify and drive process improvements; anticipate business needs with data‑driven solutions; ensure alignment with global and regional teams. Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Supply Chain, Life Sciences, Analytics preferred). Advanced qualifications (MBA, MS, or professional certification such as APICS CSCP) desirable. 5+ years’ experience in commercial analytics, insights, or supply chain roles ideally in pharma/biotech industries. Experience with 3PL management, forecasting, and GDP‑compliant logistics. Strong analytical and communication skills; advanced Excel; Power BI and Veeva CRM preferred. Strong vendor, project, and stakeholder management. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and influence stakeholders.
