We are currently seeking a Senior Compensation Manager to join our growing team to collaborate on challenging compensation and total rewards consulting engagements for a diverse client base. EY’s Rewards - People Advisory Services (PAS) helps organizations to optimize business performance through compensation and total rewards strategies that allow them to better understand current market conditions and better reward and engage their people. Responsibilities

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Senior Compensation Manager, you will work with a wide range of clients across different industries, participating as a critical member of project teams to manage compensation and total rewards engagements. This position is responsible for leading projects and interacting directly with clients, managing and directing analytical support in the delivery of compensation and total rewards engagements, and in developing meaningful insights and conclusions relating to the review, design, and implementation of workforce and executive compensation and total rewards plans. This position will actively participate in business development and market activities through proposal development, responding to RFPs, and development of whitepapers and presentations. You will work with the existing Canadian Compensation and Rewards team, as well as with EY’s global network of compensation professionals.

This position will also be responsible for:

  • Conducting research and analysis to better understand organizational issues and strategies, as well as industry/market trends relating to areas including compensation, total rewards, attraction/retention of talent, organization strategy and goals etc.
  • Providing meaningful and tailored insights based on a combination of understanding an organization’s internal talent and compensation needs, along with external market practices and applicable legislation
  • Conducting external market reviews and assessments to help organizations better understand their compensation and total rewards competitiveness relative to their peers
  • Designing and implementing workforce and executive compensation and total rewards strategies and structures, as well as incentive plans that align to an organization’s pay-for-performance environment
  • Designing and implementing job evaluation systems and providing job description writing and evaluation support
  • Conducting pay equity assessments and analysis (Federal and Provincial) to support an organization’s pay equity compliance strategy
  • Conducting total rewards assessments and analysis to support organizations in identifying potential changes to elements of their total rewards package
  • Participating in M&A and post-harmonization compensation and total rewards engagements
  • Preparing client reports and presentations, including recommendations presented to senior management, HR leaders, boards of directors, and executives
  • Managing client relationships and acting as the main point-of-contact on compensation and total rewards projects
  • Leading and providing guidance to a team of analysts in the completion of multiple compensation and total rewards projects
  • Participating in team brainstorming sessions to develop client recommendations

TO QUALIFY FOR THE ROLE YOU MUST HAVE

  • A bachelor’s degree majoring in business, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, or HR
  • Minimum 8-10 years of compensation and/or relevant work experience (consulting experience preferred)
  • Significant project management experience, leading multiple projects and managing multiple timelines, with the ability to lead a team to achieve project goals and deliverables
  • Strong technical, critical thinking, and analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative) with the ability to apply these skills to a new environment and new projects
  • Strong knowledge of advanced Microsoft Excel formulas/functions and ability to develop inter-connected analysis files and worksheets
  • Experience in conducting data analysis, working with large and complex data sets, and developing presentations and reports in Microsoft PowerPoint
