Job Description:
The Senior Manager, Consumer Insights & Business Analytics leads a team responsible for translating complex data into actionable insights, driving data-informed decision-making across the organization. This role requires a blend of analytical expertise, consumer understanding and strong communication and storytelling skills. Also experience with implementing AI-driven capabilities to enhance consumer data understanding. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner to a business unit leader providing thought leadership about the consumer and market dynamics.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a high-performing analytics team (internal & external resources), fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Consumer & Market Insights: Proactively monitor the consumer, category, and competitive landscape using syndicated data (NielsenIQ/Circana, Numerator, Luminate, Profitero, etc.) and other relevant sources to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Business Performance & Reporting: Develop and deliver clear, actionable insights from complex data for all stakeholders, clearly identifying drivers of performance to business partners and senior leadership.
  • Strategic Analytics & Project Leadership: Lead strategic analytics projects to support key business priorities (growth drivers, competitive landscape, marketing optimization, opportunity assessments, etc).
  • Data-Driven Storytelling & Influence: Translate consumer data and insights into compelling narratives to drive action and influence decision-making across the organization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams (Finance, Marketing, Sales, Data & Technology etc.) to provide analytics expertise, support capability building, and lead training.
  • Data Strategy & Vendor Management: Develop and manage relationships with key data vendors, ensuring efficient and effective data resource utilization.
  • Technology & AI Integration: Act as a business product owner, partnering with Data & Technology teams to define requirements, prioritize development, and deliver new business analytics capabilities. Lead the integration of new technologies and AI to enhance analytics.
  • Forecasting & Planning: Contribute to accurate business forecasts, collaborating with central teams to ensure alignment with business plans.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Marketing, Statistics, Data Analytics, etc.).
  • 10+ years of experience in business-facing insights and analytics roles, with proven success translating data into actionable insights using syndicated data sources.
  • Proven team leadership and mentorship skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in fast-paced environments, managing multiple projects.
  • Experience navigating complex organizations.
  • Experience collaborating with Data & Technology teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA or Master’s degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in CPG insights & analytics.
  • Experience managing globally dispersed teams.
  • Experience at a syndicated data vendor.
  • Experience as a business product owner.
  • Experience applying AI and machine learning to insights & business analytics.
