The Senior Manager, Corporate Brand Marketing is responsible for leading, developing and executing corporate brand campaigns, influencer marketing and cross-divisional strategic marketing initiatives (Samsung Members & Consumer Reviews). They will manage corporate marketing programs that affect Samsung’s overall corporate reputation and brand imagery which contribute to divisional performance targets including both Mobile Experiences (MX) and Consumer Electronics (CE). This role will be the champion for all cross-divisional marketing programs working alongside other internal brand & marketing teams to ensure consistency and alignment with strategic marketing messaging. The implications of this role are considerable, including the continued growth perception of Samsung as an ethical, successful, innovative company– a brand that matters to Canadians.

This role is responsible for strategically defining and leading our marketing strategy through creation, development and implementation of consumer-focused integrated marketing plans and influencer programs that improve overall Samsung corporate brand reputation. While the position will focus on integrated marketing communications, the incumbent needs to be flexible enough to work on ad hoc marketing programs, as the needs of the business arise.

  • Develop and execute Consumer Marketing Strategies that align to corporate brand objectives.
  • Collaborate with multiple cross-functional departments to plan, develop and execute fully integrated and strategic marketing campaigns that support on-going business needs.
  • Leads IMC strategy, creative development and execution for the Samsung corporate brand communications across all touch-points including traditional and non-traditional mediums.
  • Lead and deliver breakthrough Influencer Marketing planning and operations (#TeamSamsung).
  • Leverage Marketing Intelligence insights to optimize strategy and executional elements.
  • Project manages the executional detail of these plans including budget management and IMC timelines to ensure timely implementation.

Role and Responsibilities
Corporate Integrated Brand Campaigns:

The role involves agency management, creative development, leading cross-functional teams and collaboration with key internal and external partners. Key skills needed include strategic thinking, agency management, creative concept evaluation, project management, working within a team, and creative/strategic acumen. Must be able to balance multiple projects and priorities and have experience in shaping creative content and leading creative discussions with internal and external partners.

  • Be the champion and lead for all corporate masterbrand integrated marketing campaigns (IMCs) such as but not limited to SmartThings, Sustainability and Loyalty.
  • Be the champion of Influencer Marketing across corporate and divisional campaigns maximizing Team Samsung across all LOBs plus ad hoc community experts for select programs and product launches as required.
  • Lead IMC planning process by building campaign brief, reviewing agency plans (Paid Media, Digital, Social, PR, Influencer and CRM) and approving all tactical elements to support launch.
  • Manage the holistic planning and execution with relevant marketing agency partners (Paid Media, CRM, PR, etc.) for all Samsung corporate campaigns.
  • Act as the champion for brand integrity and compliance in all materials.
  • Collaborate with agency partners to create insightful and actionable quarterly reviews, monthly scorecards, weekly performance and relevant campaign reports for varies stakeholders.
  • Internal Samsung subject matter expert (SME) on all thing’s Samsung corporate brand.
  • Provide liaison with HQ, NAHQ or third parties to source marketing assets, best practices.
  • Estimate scope of work, prepare budgets, and create plan proposals (PPs) and execution orders (EOs) as part of the planning and approval process.
  • Continuously look for new and innovative opportunities in grow Samsung corporate reputation.
  • Review key programs to ensure ROI targets are achieved.

Influencer Marketing:

  • Lead influencer marketing strategies aligned with overall Samsung brand and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate influencer marketing into broader marketing campaigns.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with relevant influencers aligned with cross-divisional audiences.
  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of influencer marketing campaigns, ensuring seamless integration with agency partners.
  • Conduct market research and stay on top of industry trends to provide actionable insights to optimize future influencer campaigns.
  • Support the agency with reviews and approvals of influencer IDs, reviewing contracts, writing briefs, and ensuring the agency gets the details they require from Samsung’s cross-functional teams to deliver on program plans.
  • Collaborate with the agency and cross-functional teams to manage budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Educate, coach and inspire cross-functional teams on the benefit of influencers within the marketing mix.
  • Establish a monthly influencer dashboard to chart and assess the effectiveness of influencer marketing within Samsung across the various lines of business.

Consumer Reviews and Online Reputation:

  • Lead the yearly plan and budget for the company’s Online Reviews program, working closely with brand and product specialists across the organization, to analyze, moderate, report, dashboard and influence positive customer engagement and reviews.
  • Manage the reviews program and processes on Samsung.com, leveraging expert knowledge of online channels to build impactful review acquisition and response programs.
  • Guide the reset and optimization of current Online Reviews process within SECA by establishing new and improved methods to analyzing, reporting and growing online reviews. Assess and optimize digital tools to measure, report and dashboard successfully.
  • Work with teams across HQ/NAHQ to learn and leverage existing strategies and tools to improve our Online Reviews process and management.
  • Manage an external agency of record, team and budget.
  • Build new connections to ensure key audiences of reviews are aligned to the same overarching plan KPIs.
  • Closely collaborate with Retail/eComm, Service, Divisions/FMRs and marketing counterparts to identify opportunities and build marketing action plans that see enhanced review moderation and solutions that translate into positive brand health and ultimately sales.
  • Grow the programs focus from responding to poor reviews and growing quantity/quality of reviews to leveraging reviews to increase customer satisfaction, loyalty and driving repeat purchase.
  • Stay up to date and actively seek out new and innovation solutions to evolve the program through an ongoing analysis of competitor and general marketplace trends in the online reviews space.

Samsung Members & Partner Benefits:

  • Act as Product Owner to drive growth and Monthly Active Users for the Samsung Members platform and similar benefits and community-based efforts.
  • In charge of admin operations, reporting, performance analysis, marketing campaigns planning and execution.
  • Lead the yearly plan and budget for the company’s benefits program, working closely with brand and product specialists across the organization, to analyze, moderate, report, dashboard and influence positive customer engagement and MAU’s.
  • Ownership of benefits partner relationship; liaise with agencies and partners to manage benefits programs and marketing campaigns with the objective to improve signups and monthly active users and drive incremental business results across the lines of business. This includes but not limited to: Prepare campaigns for new products and services, plan and execute customer benefits and promotions to support these campaigns, establish T&Cs and work on related legal and financial processes as required.
  • Ownership of marketing and push notification services available within the Samsung Members application to help grow exposure of benefits, product/service launches and other marketing campaigns.
  • Work with community engagement teams to help ensure growth and engagement of Samsung owners within the Samsung Members community platform
  • Work with service to ensure appropriate tips/tricks and support functions are available and used within Samsung Members.
  • Liaise with headquarter teams to ensure platform functions are well understood and utilized to help increase presence in Canada.

Corporate Marketing Initiatives:

  • Lead division-wide key marketing initiatives with on-time and in-scope project management.
  • Collaborate with the development of strategic initiatives aligned to the current market needs and Corporate Marketing team’s priorities.
  • Support the development of corporate marketing presentations for leadership reviews and strategy Task Force as needed.

Skills and Qualifications
Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.

Knowledge:

  • Experience must include proven performance in creative brief writing; original & adapted advertising creative & media plan development and digital/social marketing savvy.
  • Ability to present campaign briefs setting clear direction, KPIs and targets.
  • Proficient in in brand marketing fundamentals and in particular, the ability to identify specific consumer and industry insights to diagnose issues and opportunities and to translate them into a single-minded strategy and action plan that deliver on specific growth objectives and goals.
  • Experience in adapting global and developing local creative assets with creative agency.
  • Experience managing and reviewing various channels such as Paid Media (TVC, OOH), Digital Media (Display, OLV, Programmatic), CRM (Email, SMS), Social Media (Google, Meta, TikTok, etc.), PR, Influencer and other relevant ATL and BTL tactics.
  • Strong understanding of digital channels best practices to maximize performance & efficiency.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented nature with experience reporting on insights and campaign results.
  • Ability to manage complex and fast-moving issues while working with limited supervision.
  • Creative Concept Evaluation: Ability to evaluate creative concepts and executions based on creative, strategic alignment and shopper impact.
  • Agency Management: Knowledge of methods used and ability to inspire agency performance.
  • Creative Brief Development: Knowledge of the creative brief development process.
  • Strategic Selling: Ability to listen to various points of input, and sell a vision of the work through knowledge of brand and creative strategy.

Experience:

  • 10+ yrs. experience in consumer brand marketing role(s), masterbrand preferred.
  • 5+ yrs. project management experience by leading strategic corporate initiatives that involve working with several different internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Demonstrated career progression within past 12-18 months.
  • Self-motivated & resilience to work with limited supervision. Ability to manage complex issues.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and planning skills. Proven ability to function effectively in a team environment.
